Exactly three years after the Web Opening of the MINDKISS Project at the ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe, the OUBEY Global Encounters Tour is coming to Berlin.

What goes through the mind of an astronomer specialized in the search for extraterrestrial intelligence when he encounters one of OUBEYs paintings for the first time?

…was the route travelled by nine original works by OUBEY for their first public presentation in the Art Lounge of the Goethe Institute in San Francisco at the “VISIONS: Through Art to Science” exhibition – where they were paired with the Encounter Videos which now accompany each of the paintings.

OUBEYs originals will be presented in a special setting at a symposium at the Goethe Institute in San Francisto on 20 October 2012.

The worldwide Encounter OUBEY Live Tour which kicks off on 20 October in San Francisco showcases a different original StarPixel at each of the tour’s stopovers.

Over the past few years one of the most frequent questions people have asked me is when and where OUBEYs pictures can at long last be seen. To answer this question and give people the chance to view his paintings in their original versions, we are now planning a tour which will kick off in October. It will run over several years with many stopovers in a great variety of countries across the world.

Recently, we had the traffic statistics for oubey.com evaluated: We had over 500,000 hits since the web opening at the ZKM in Karlsruhe on March 23rd, 2010. Amongst the most popular were “The Art of OUBEY” and the OUBEY Blog.
