New Calendarium for OUBEY 2011

If you are still enjoying your OUBEY Calendar 2011, then you don’t need to take it down these days, because a new “Calendarium” for 2012 is available: twelve new stickers in green, with an altered geometry, will document the passage of time.

You can order the stickers here and will get them for free as long as they are in stock. Whether you plan on going through 2012 with or without a calendar – we wish you a happy new year and hope that you will remain attached to OUBEY and the MINDKISS Project.

Als im letzten Jahr Stan Lee verstarb, der Gründer des „Marvel“ Imperiums, Erfinder von Superhelden wie Spider Man und neben Walt Disney wohl die einflussreichste Größe im weltweiten Comic Markt, gab es Nachrufe in den Feuilletons namhafter Zeitschriften weltweit. Sie würdigten ihn und die Bedeutung seines Schaffens für die kulturelle Entwicklung der zurückliegenden Jahrzehnte. War das der Ausdruck eines Sinneswandels oder nur eine Verbeugung vor seinem überwältigenden kommerziellen Erfolg?

Art is like a children’s game

"It took me four years to paint like Raffael but a whole lifetime to paint like a child again."

This was said by no one less than Pablo Picasso. Even though his paintings had long been ranked by the art world among the best ever painted, learning to paint like a child was apparently a major concern of his.

Just watch children at play. In their games they create their own private world. We grown-ups perhaps don’t take this seriously and think “oh, they’re just playing”.

Take A Pebble

In a conversation on 25 November 1991 OUBEY was asked what piece of music he would be, if he was a piece of music at all. He promptly answered: “Take A Pebble – By Emerson, Lake and Palmer, 1970.”
