Dagmar Woyde-Koehler, who lived and worked together with OUBEY for 21 years, established the OUBEY MINDKISS Project after his untimely death with the aim of opening up OUBEYs work to broad new audiences outside the circuits of the commercial art world.
With the Encounters, she’s now found her own special way of achieving her goal. She arranges “rendezvous” between OUBEYs paintings and a wide range of different people from across the world including many famous researchers and (natural) scientists but also artists and children too. Spontaneously before the cameras, they talk about the thoughts and associations triggered by their first view of the painting, and in doing so open up unusual unexpected perspectives on OUBEYs art. The edited versions of the Encounter films are presented online at www.oubey.com/journey.
The Journey is a documentary film that accompanies Dagmar Woyde-Koehler on her travels with OUBEYs paintings throughout the world and gives an inside view of her work in this project. It had its first public screening in March 2013 at the Berlin stopover of the GLOBAL ENCOUNTERS TOUR.
