Prof. Dr. Alexander Deichsel is considered as the founder of brand sociology, the theoretical basis of modern brand technology and he is also co-founder and board member of the Institute of Brand Technology in Geneva where the encounter with OUBEY’s painting Reise der Monaden (Journey of the Monads) took place.
Prof. Deichsel is also a leading authority on the metaphysics of Leibniz. He has written a commentary on Leibniz’s “monadology” from the standpoint of brand technology which was published in a special edition along with the theory of monads.
This made the painting which OUBEY dedicated to Leibniz’s theory of monads the obvious choice for the encounter with Prof. Deichsel.
